Started by the Device Security Check on this computer
Device Security Check Report
This check does not permanently install anything to watch this computer, and it does not leave a background program running. It only runs while the terminal that started the Device Security Check is open; closing that terminal stops the program and this page. It is only for checking and fixing security settings, reading machine metadata, and sending a report after you review it so Redwood can record that this device meets policy. The checker should be started from an administrator account on this computer; if you cannot, contact #devops or Marshall Richards for alternative steps. security.rdwrs.com is the signed-in Security Setup site. Nothing has been uploaded.
Looks like this computer has an MDM setup. You may not need to run the Device Security Check here — ask #devops. You can still finish this scan. Remaining settings stay visible as guided steps, and this program will not automatically change MDM-managed settings.
Policy status
Each result has two labels: whether it passed, and how that result was reached. A green check is the outcome. The second label is provenance only. Human verification means you completed the setting yourself. A human override means you cannot complete it now and left a note.
Finish the remaining device checks
A few device checks cannot be accomplished by the program itself; we call these "GUIDED" items. Instead the option here is to use either an agent on your behalf or to do it yourself with the settings guides we have below. We recommend using an agent as it take care of some items for you and mark them as "Verified By Agent" which we take as a better sign than last-resort human verification (although sometimes that is unavoidable for certain items on certain computers). Human verification means you completed the setting yourself. A human override is a separate last resort when you cannot complete an item now and must leave a note. Any of the three paths below are valid, but we recommend them in the order listed below.
Path A
Auto-detect local CLI agents to perform guided tasks
Looks for a logged-in Claude Code, Codex CLI, or Hermes Agent on this computer, then asks before starting it in a local terminal. This runs that CLI on this machine, not a Redwood-hosted assistant.
This may fail if you do not have a Terminal CLI agent installed on this computer, and that is perfectly fine. You can always use Path B or Path C instead. If the local CLI closes or keeps dropping while it is working, copy the prompt from Path B into an agent on this computer.
Path B
Copy the prompt into an agent
If auto-detect does not work, or the local CLI closes while it is working, copy this prompt into Claude Code, Codex / ChatGPT for macOS, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or whatever local agent you have that can use this computer’s terminal or shell.
Path C
Do it yourself
You do not need an agent. If an agent could not verify an item, follow the Settings clicks under each item, then use the official vendor guides as extra reference. Terminal or PowerShell commands are optional backups.
Report privacy
The report normally includes device metadata Redwood uses to distinguish and support devices. Uncheck anything you want to hide.
A reason is required only when one or more fields are hidden, including flagged shell-history findings.
Last-resort human verification or override
Try a local agent first. Then choose one option for each remaining item. These are last-resort paths after the checker and an agent still cannot close the item.
Human verification means you completed the setting yourself and the checker or agent could not confirm it. Human override is only when you cannot complete the item now because of extreme friction, such as reformatting the disk. Each override needs its own note, and you should tell Marshall Richards what you could not get working.
Report ready
The report is still only on this computer. Connect your Redwood account, then send the exact report you previewed.
Submitting this records this computer only. Afterward, go back to security.rdwrs.com and finish the Person Checklist and Security Knowledge Quiz if you have not already. The Device Security Check does not complete Security Setup by itself.
Review the exact finalized report JSON
This immutable payload is what direct submission and the download fallback use.
Connect your Redwood account
A new browser tab will open to security.rdwrs.com, where you need to sign in to link this local page with your Redwood account. After a successful sign-in, the security.rdwrs.com tab you signed in through will close after a few seconds. You can then return to this local page and submit the report.
Need the manual upload fallback?
Download the reviewed JSON only if direct submission is unavailable.
Download report JSONExiting sends nothing. Run the command from security.rdwrs.com again to continue; an unexpired account connection can be reused, but you will review the current device result and privacy choices again.
Device Security Check submitted
The signed-in Security Setup page will update automatically.
This is only the Device Security Check. You are not finished with Security Setup yet. Go back to security.rdwrs.com and complete the Person Checklist and Security Knowledge Quiz if those are still open.
